Taste sweet sour, slightly fruitly, balsamic smell and astringent taste.
My experience that North India cuisine uses Amchoor in cooking and South Indian cooking is prefering "tamarind". Good in stews and soups. One of the main ingredients for natural meat tenderizer.
We use Amchoor as part of our seasonings and spice blends.
